A new Nintendo fan game has surfaced over at NewGrounds recently that brings a good old school nostalgia feeling when playing. This flash made game (entitled Super Mario Bros Crossover) takes the setting from Super Mario Bros. from the NES and adds a twist with a very unique character selection. You can choose from several favorites including Mario, Samus, Megaman and our favorite Nintedo hero, Link.
When playing as Link you can collect objects (the usual mushrooms, flowers, etc) to upgrade Link’s arsenal. When you obtain the fire flower, it gives you Link’s classic red tunic which also enables the sword beam attack. Link is also able to throw his boomerang and perform upward/downward thrusts. You will also recognize a few classic themes when playing certain worlds.
