Update: Confirmed fake. Writing “fire” in kanji and “ice” in katakana would make the titles inconsistent and it was also proven that whoever designed the logo used a simple translator as there were some grammar errors within the titles.

Firstly, the winner of the GOTY Award that G4 held is.. Skyward Sword! It also got honored with the best soundtrack award! I’m so happy that the game got the award because even though the game wasn’t the best in my opinion I truly think Zelda deserves some glory after 25 years of being the beloved and amazing franchise it is! Skyward Sword won some pretty tough competitions, and I know a lot of people had to make hard choices, but it won, so hurray hurray for our winner, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword!

Secondly, the game has got a game-breaking glitch that seems to occur by doing this (in a response from Nintendo last week). I copy and paste it for you guys who hasn’t completed the game yet, haven’t seen it and wish to read it so you know what to avoid.

…- The situation is caused by performing the following sequence of events during the Song of the Hero quest:
At the beginning of the quest, go to Lanayru Desert to retrieve the song of the Thunder Dragon.
In the Lanayru Mine, speak with Golo the Goron.
Complete the Thunder Dragon’s event, and receive his song.
Before heading to the forest or volcano regions, speak with Golo in the mine again.
At this point, the forest and volcano events will no longer occur, making it impossible to continue.

Solutions:

This issue WILL NOT OCCUR if the Fire and Water Dragon songs have already been collected before collecting the Thunder Dragon’s song. Talking to Golo in the Lanayru Caves will also NOT trigger this issue.

If the game has been saved after completing the sequence of events, it will no longer be possible to proceed through the game on that save file. The only options at that point are to either start the game over or to use an earlier save file to continue…-”

Nintendo has offically said that they will fix this glitch by either a downloadable fix or by sending in the SD card to them. The problem is that this is for Japan, so we haven’t got any confirmation if this will be happening in other parts of the world. If you got affected by it, I’m holding my thumbs for you that it will work out, because starting the game all over again is not fun at all and not really acceptable either from Nintendo’s side if they decided to do nothing for us non-japanese people.

Thirdly, a special book is being released for the 25th anniversary called Hyrule Historia with a little more in-depth stories and information about Zelda and a lot of nice concept art with a bunch of more goodies. It will be yours for 3,255 Yen (about US $40) and is released the 21th december 2011. This is something I’d love to get, but I haven’t seen a confirmation about that it will be translated and sold outside of Japan. I’ll keep my eyes on it as the collector I am, definitely.

Talking about collecting stuff, if you’re interested in completing your Gold triforce wiimote with a gold nunchuk, this will probably be really interesting for you! Of course, only avaible in Japan so far, but I’m hoping that other regions can take part of this offer too! You can get it through Club Nintendo when you’ve collected 600 points, and just 400 points if you sent in the points for your Skyward Sword copy. Sadly, Sweden no longer has a Club Nintendo, so I’m kinda sad over it, but if you guys in other parts of the world have the chance to get it, I’ll be really happy for you but jealous, of course..

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I’m working on my impressions for SS! I beat the game a few days ago, so now I think it’s time to write down what I thought of it.

Also people, if you really liked SS, go vote for it on the final round in G4 GOTY Deathmatch! There’s still a couple of days left, but you should definitly do it if you consider SS a worthy winner. Assassin’s Creed could give SS a really hard time, but I’m hoping for SS to win! But in the coming weeks, we will be updating all our Skyward Sword sections, so if you do not want to be spoiled I suggest avoiding them until a later time. When we complete a guide, we will also post it in the front page to let those that have the game know that is has been completed. You can also check out what has recently been updated or added in the website’s side menu, even before it has been officially added to the game’s index.

I got it yesterday (as I’m living in Europe) with the limited edition bundle with the 25th Anniversary CD and the Golden Wii Remote, and I have to say that the Wii Remote is really cool (it’s gold and with a Triforce on, nuff said) and the CD.. frickin’ awesome. Just you wait, readers – I do hope you pre-ordered the bundle. It costs a lot but it’s totally worth it, especially if you don’t have a Wii Motion Plus like me. Or if you are a hungry collector. Or if you just want it.

I’m already 11 hours in the game, just on my way to the second temple. That can maybe make you grasp how long this game is, not to my displeasure of course. I have to admit that I have been just looking around for new places to do something at the most of the time, the overworld and Skyloft all have new places and new people to find. The graphics are astounding and beautiful, especially when you sitting in front of your TV playing it. Despite this game being a little harder when it comes to combat, it’s really fun and make you think (which can be aggrivating for a not-so-patient girl like me), both in boss battles, temples and outside in the Sky or on the surface. Definitly not like the other games. I still have yet to say if it’s the best Zelda out there, or if it beats my favorite game Wind Waker (which means it has a lot to prove!), but we’ll see. I have a lot to play left!

I’ll not say much more as it’s releasing tomorrow for Americans and a few more days for Japan and Australia. I want you to get your own opinions and see the game for yourself, therefore I’ll be doing my Impressions article when it’s released for everybody and when I have played through it (which will take a while).
