At least according to this Swedish online retailer that has listed said game. It was reported some time back that there would be a Paper Zelda version of A Link to the Past, but the only source was from a random user sending in an anonymous tip. Could this new listing be of any significance? Probably not as if a true Legend of Zelda Paper was officially announced, we would all have heard it from Nintendo and not some random foreign online retail website. Nonetheless, they are listing this game to be released on the upcoming Nintendo console, the Wii U.

In an interview with Kotaku, Miyamoto discusses the Nintendo Wii U console and the next Zelda title that will be in HD and designed for the new upcoming system. He mentions how the player will have in-depth experiences with the game and some possible new play features. Check out the interview below.

“This is an HD system, our first HD system, and we want to create a real HD Zelda game for it,” he said. “You will see a lot of these in-depth and deep experiences in terms of visual style. You will also see some play styles that are fun and interesting because of the play structure.”

While the system is rumored to be at least as powerful as rivals Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, that doesn’t mean that every game that comes to it will be an HD game.

“We are not planning on putting any restrictions in terms of requiring developers to leverage HD in a particular ways,” Miyamoto said. “Even if you are using a simplier visual style it will still look very beautiful.”

Thanks to Zelda Informer for the heads up on this new entry. Anyways it would appear several rumors are floating around that originated from a recent Eiji Aonuma interview with Famitsu. The first one being that sometime during E3 2011 (which is under a week away) Nintendo will reveal what they have in store for the Legend of Zelda series 25th anniversary. The second one being they will actually reveal an unannounced new Zelda title during the conference. View below for quotes from various sources.

Via Power Nintendo

When we learned that Eiji Aonuma would participate in a TV show, we asked him to follow to learn more about the development of 3D Ocarina of Time , and possibly one or two glean information about the franchise which will be celebrated this year on 25 th anniversary.

The least we can say is that we were not disappointed! Indeed, Eiji Aonuma has announced no less, tells us Nicolas in his transcript, a new Zelda game, presented at the 25th anniversary of the franchise! To help you discover the contents of the intervention of Eiji Aonuma about to Ocarina of Time 3D , we suggest you discover the transcript of Nicolas below.

The information remains the main presentation, next week, a Zelda birthday, the 25th anniversary of the franchise. We do not know if it’s a remake or compilation, is still it that this anniversary edition, highly anticipated by fans, we will be presented in detail next week during E3.

Via Nintendo Everything

During Satoru Iwata’s GDC speech back in March, Nintendo’s president teased news regarding Zelda’s 25th anniversary. Unfortunately, Iwata only said that Shigeru Miyamoto has been working on a plan to allow all lovers of the franchise to celebrate together.

That was quite a mysterious statement, and fans have been left wondering what it could mean. Thankfully they won’t have to wait much longer to find out what Nintendo has up their sleeves.

Famitsu held a live-stream of a Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D preview with Eiji Aonuma earlier today. Although most of the time was spent previewing the upcoming 3DS title, Aonuma apparently said that anniversary plans for Zelda will be shared at E3. I missed most of the event and I don’t speak Japanese, so I can’t confirm the rumor. But it would most definitely make sense to feature the news at E3, especially if it’s a new game.

Of course only we will have to wait until E3 2011 (which as stated before isn’t but less than a week away) to find out exactly what Nintendo has in store.

Read what he had to say here!

With an Ocarina Of Time remake on the way in June, Miyamoto says the one game he would most like to see remade for 3DS would be another Zelda classic. “I think A Link To The Past,” he says. “Do you remember Xevious? It’s two-layered and I really wanted to create that at the time. So to see Link To The Past in two layers would be quite attractive for me.”

Although I would have preferred this game get made into a 3D environment and released on a console, but the sound of a godly 2D Zelda title would be amazing. Your thoughts?

Gameblog got an exclusive interview with Shigeru Miyamoto in which they discuss several topics such as Zelda’s 25th Anniversary, a possible new Zelda game for Nintendo’s next console, the future of the Zelda series, Project Cafe and more. Read some of the main points below and parts of the interview below that.

Miyamoto is working on a new Zelda game, possibly for the next Nintendo console.

Many products will be released for Zelda’s 25th Anniversary.

Possibly handing the Zelda series over to younger developers.

He discusses the hate on Toon Link as well.

Place two of your major works: Mario and Zelda, Pikmin I also had in stock …

I’ll be honest, it feels weird to see Mario figurine like that. It’s a character I designed to be shown flat. And if you can imagine how difficult it was to succeed in the modeling in relief. For example, it was unclear if his eyebrows were going to be below or above the cap. So we wondered if we had to show them. There was much discussion on the position and proportions of each of its members. Obviously, I’m always having something like this in your hands.

Another thing that has changed so much with Mario, and few people have noticed is that his legs are bigger than before. I always wished he had legs a little short to be fast and nervous, but his approach is realistic, we had to lengthen her legs. Anyway I can not thank enough the plumber, because through him I became a Game Designer! As for the Link, I call it “Link-eyed cat.” I’ll admit it took courage to enter this design more cartoon. In the end if we took this decision is that the time we really wanted to make a game typical Nintendo. An adventure that represents the soul of our society. So Link is a boy rather usual class, it was completely reinvented with a more streamlined look. Moreover it allowed us to create a real distinction between his adventures on home console and portable. Each has its own identity the coup and that is just fine.

So yes, well I know, there are plenty of people who hate cartoon version … but there it is!

Obviously, last year celebrated its 25 years Mario and this year is the turn of Link. I hope you’ll be pleased to learn that there will be many products that Zelda will be created for the occasion … and then to finish with these things, I promise to do everything to deliver your new Mario this year!

As such, the images revealed by Satoru Iwata at GDC 2011, we discovered a logo of Mario with a tail of tanuki … eerily reminiscent of that of Super Mario Bros.. 3 . I guess it’s no coincidence …

Indeed, Mario may still fly with its tail by Tanuki … flop, flop, flop … be patient.

Finally to conclude with the objects, I’ve brought a cup of … coffee! You’ll understand that I am referring to the famous “Coffee Project”, the Wii 2 in an uproar for several days on the net …

Yes, I saw found rumors speak of “Coffee”. At the time I want to say it’s normal. You know Nintendo, like all other manufacturers, our job is to design new machines. We believe it takes 5 years to make the R & D interesting. Afterwards, I admit that there is no smoke without fire. We must realize that we spend our time developing in-house gaming consoles. Some of you will ever see. With us, as we do not know exactly where we are going and when do we get out our next console, we do not disclose publicly. But we should not believe everything we read …

Multiple sources such as IGN and Game Informer are reporting that Nintendo will unveil the Wii 2, also code named Project Cafe (rumored) at E3 this year and it will have features such as HD resolution, a 3D HD touch screen controller, backwards compatible with the Wii, Blue-ray disc player and much more (which are only rumors at the time). It has also been said this new Nintendo system will release sometime in 2012. We’ll just have to wait and see until we hear an official announcement from Nintendo or at E3 2011.

With that being said, what could be in store for the Legend of Zelda series? It could be possible they are already at work on a new console Zelda game other than Skyward Sword. It is however unlikely that Skyward Sword will be ported to Wii 2 like Twilight Princess was with the Gamecube and Nintendo Wii (other than the Wii 2 system possibly being backwards compatible). It is also possible we may see a console 3D Zelda title with this new Nintendo hardware.

If these rumors are indeed true then I find it lacking that we may only get one Zelda game meant for the Nintendo Wii. Sure, that console has run it’s course, but it seems they didn’t give the Zelda series the proper attention on that system as Nintendo did with other games such as the Super Mario franchise. Sure, we got Link’s Crossbow training, but that was only a spin off. Nonetheless, if the next console Zelda title does in fact release on “Project Cafe”, then I really hope Nintendo exceeds everyone’s expectations and create that game exclusively for the new system.

With enhanced HD graphics, Nintendo could truly make the fantasy world known as Hyrule come alive. A lively large overworld with amazing scenery and interactivity, large difficult and interactive dungeons, detailed towns and villages and pretty much anything you ever dreamed of coming to life in a Zelda game. Wouldn’t it be nice to get a complete 3D remake of titles such as The Adventure of Link or Link’s Awakening along with brand new titles. Everyone expected a lot to be in store for the Zelda franchise with the Wii, but if Skyward Sword is the only exclusive game, then we will all have to wait to see what the next console brings to the table.

A new Nintendo console also means the future and quality of all the mainstream games to do only one thing, succeed. We can only expect great things in store for the Legend of Zelda, anything is possible of what we will see by E3 2012. And with Skyward Sword possibly being the last big game for the Nintendo Wii, it is safe to say the official announcement of the Wii 2 will come soon along with games for that system that are possibly still just being worked on behind the scenes.
