Information
Link’s Crossbow Training is a spin-off of the Zelda series, and more specifically Twilight Princess. It uses many of the same locations, enemies, and assets from Twilight Princess, and looks almost identical. The difference, however, is the gameplay.
Link’s Crossbow Training is an on-rails shooter in which Link uses his crossbow to shoot enemies in order to receive points. The purpose of the game is to receive a high score, and to constantly replay the game to beat your high score. It’s the first and only Zelda game to be focused only on shooting, and many fans don’t consider it canon or a true Zelda experience.

Link’s Crossbow Training is only available bundled with the Wii Zapper peripheral, and as such it’s sort of a demo for what the accessory is capable of. Consequently, the game is extremely short and of little substance. Critics and fans have criticized the Wii Zapper accessory, stating that it actually makes games harder and more frustrating to play, however Link’s Crossbow Training has generally been received quite decently by critics and consumers.
